Nearly 25,000 homes in Queensland's southeast woke up without power on the start of the week after intense storm systems swept through the area, producing powerful gusts topping 109km/h.
Large Ice Stones and Broad Destruction
Homeowners witnessed substantial frozen pellets as large as seven centimeters in some areas. The Bureau of Meteorology announced that multiple regions across Queensland had been affected by large hailstones.

Rescue organizations received 598 emergency reports across the region, mainly for structural issues but also for fallen timber and water accumulation.

At one point on yesterday, more than 28k power users in the state were experiencing outages.

Damp conditions were forecast to persist along large portions of the state's eastern regions this next several days as a atmospheric system continued to pull in damp air against the shoreline.
Tomorrow was predicted as the most rainy day, with continued severe weather risk anticipated across different parts of both areas.

Public health experts warned that there was an higher risk of epidemic thunderstorm asthma across the countryside regions, particularly given the current weather patterns.
